A series of photos I captured to promote The Neo-Political Cowgirls’ experimental dance theater hybrid, HYSTERIA, directed by Kate Mueth. The images were shared on social media (along with captions I wrote) in the weeks leading up to the performance dates to drive ticket sales and ramp up excitement for this unique dramatic experience. The photos are intentionally grainy and gritty — this style was used to mirror the fractured and raw internal states three women (the protagonists) being held captive in a psychiatric hospital come to know as their daily existence as a result of their experiences there.
